HAFA’s 2025 Children’s Celebration
December 16th, 2025, marked a special milestone for the Hispanic American Fire昀椀ghters
Association (HAFA) as we proudly brought
back our annual Children’s Celebration after a three-year hiatus. Hosted for the 昀椀rst
time at Zoo Miami, the 28th edition of the
Children’s Celebration was truly bigger and
better than ever. Children with disabilities, from elementary through high school, were treated to an extraordinary day
昀椀lled with fun and unforgettable experiences. The celebration
included close encounters with zoo animals, an old-fashioned
hot dog lunch, Christmas gifts, and special appearances by
Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and their favorite elves. The highlight
of the day was Santa’s dramatic arrival aboard a Miami-Dade
Fire Rescue Air Rescue helicopter, which delighted children
and adults alike.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Zoo Miami for all
their hard work and willingness to 昀椀nd a solution
to everything we requested. Thanks to MDFR’s Logistics Division for all their assistance with preparation and transportation for the event. Thanks
to the Special OPS Division and Air Rescue South
B-shift for their assistance and performance. Most
importantly,we want to thank over 60 volunteers
that showed up to participate on the day of the
event. Without them, the success of this event would not have
been possible! Thank you again to all of our volunteers and
in-kind sponsors whose generosity and dedication made this
year’s Children’s Festival a truly memorable event!
We look forward to December 2026 for another successful event.
