the next Dahlonega Camp Out Reunion from November 6-8,
2026 at the R-Ranch in the Mountains. Dave and Julie are on

Hello my brother/sister retirees.
Once again we have sadly lost several 昀椀re昀椀ghters these past
few months. I am still imploring that any of our retirees that
are not on Facebook, to please consider doing so. It is a free,
easy, and fun way to see what’s happening and what events
are coming up, and how did they go? (including photos), who
has passed away, funeral arrangements, etc. So please, signup on Facebook and join the Retired Metro Dade Fire昀椀ghters
group page. You’re grandkids can show you how!
Dahlonega: We have new hosts! Thank you so much Dave
and Julie Downey for stepping up to take over our annual gathering! This past November in Dahlonega was stupendous!
Thanks to our former hosts, Jeffery and Jennifer Burns for supporting them and especially for the awesome memorial video
that was shown at the event for all to see. Save the date for
Every month our retirees in Miami-Dade and Broward have been meeting at 12pm on the 昀椀rst
Wednesday every month at Twin Peaks Restaurant in Pembroke Pines. It’s grown to a good size
group where you’ll see some familiar faces you
haven’t seen in a while, and hear some grand stories! Some of our guys and gals do the same in
Stuart at Duffey’s at 4pm every Tuesday. All are
always welcome!
Jeffery and Jennifer Burns are also restarting the breakfast
club in Asheville. Tom Chochoon organizes an occasional gettogether at Black Pointe Marina, down South in Cutler Bay,
and Janet Meyers does a monthly North/Central Lunch Bunch
in Gainesville! Watch for them on Facebook, and sign up! Get
all the news!
Every time us retirees get together, we realize that much of our
war stories are turning into what medical procedures we just
got, or new procedures or medications we’re on or about to get
on. Funny, but not! Let’s keep praying for the retirees and soon
to be retirees, to do better!
Recently our Secretary/Treasurer, Bridgett Keating and I represented the retirees at Class 157, 158, and 159 graduation ceremonies, to present the John C. Soeder Camaraderie Award.
If you get off your butt and sign up
to our Facebook Page, you could
stay up on ALL THE NEWS
and gatherings!!
