5TH ANNUAL FIREHOUS3 DAY
Every 昀椀re station has a history of its own; a legacy that begins the day its doors 昀椀rst open.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Station 3 carries a particularly powerful
history and each year on March 3rd (3/3), it proudly celebrates
that legacy with Hous3 Day. Personnel, past and present,
gathered to share stories and compare memories of what it’s like
to serve at one of the county’s most celebrated 昀椀rehouses, the
house known as the “Heroes of September 11th” Fire Station.
The station and its engine stand as memorials to the 343
New York City Fire Department 昀椀re昀椀ghters who perished on
September 11, 2001. Its rescue unit serves as a rolling tribute
to the branches of the United States Armed Forces, honoring
those who serve our nation. On March 3, 2026, retirees from
Station 3’s past joined current members of the crew to reminisce,
re昀氀ect, and look through photographs from years gone by. It
was an emotional gathering; a reminder that while an apparatus
may change and generations rotate through the bay doors, the
brotherhood, pride, and tradition of the 昀椀re service endures.
Thank you to all that drove into town to participate. We look
forward to an even bigger turnout next year. Save the date for
Wednesday March 3, 2027.
