A 3-Year Investigation
A 3-year
investigation
reveals
nothing has changed
Working with Paul Blake in retirement…
Jack Swerdloff, Ret.
His constant push
for the hospital to
provide excellent
care of patients
and EMS is a joy
to watch.
Look at this collage of photos! Paul and I spend half the time
laughing and half the time cursing at each other, or me trying to
gate him down! Nothing has changed! Just like the early 90’s
when the Chief sent 19 year old Swerd from Homestead to this
wild far-away place called Battalion 5 B Shift! Man that was a
tough place for a guy to meet young vibrant Paul Blake for the
昀椀rst time.
The guy is just as relentless at work
now, as he was 33 years ago!
I put together this collage of photos and reminisced about 3
things: one is that time 昀氀ies. But we can keep on maximizing life
throughout the entire ride. Two: that Paul and I have had a blast
working together in retirement. Three: doesn’t this guy ever get
tired of the pursuit of more! His constant push for the hospital
to provide excellent care of patients and EMS is a joy to watch.
Paul has always had strong feelings about operational perfection. Strong vocal feelings! I’m sure Chief Jadallah and his
staff could attest to that ? . So as a fun nod to Paul’s push for
more, I put together this group of photos. His job here at the
hospital is trauma follow ups. But he does not hold back from
the constant pursuit of perfection in all aspects of patient care,
EMS education, and EMS relationships.
Many of the perks EMS crews enjoy are
a result of Paul’s work. Thanks Paul! We all appreciate your efforts!
